Hi, I'am Dr. Ismet Siral

I am an experimental particle physicist working for the LHCb experiment at EPFL since 2025. Previously, I was a CERN Fellow working for the ATLAS experiment, and before that, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Oregon. I have been part of the ATLAS collaboration between 2011-2025.

I began my career by studying Electronics Engineering during my undergraduate studies at Sabancı University. I then transitioned to experimental high-energy physics for both my master's degree at Boğaziçi University and my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. Following this, I embarked on a postdoctoral journey, beginning at the University of Oregon in 2018 and subsequently continuing as a Fellow at CERN.

My research interests lie in long-lived particles and precision measurements within the Standard Model. Another area of expertise is detector design, specializing in detector readout systems. I am an active contributor to LHCb's SciFi detector and was previously involved in several ATLAS hardware projects, including the ITk (upgrade to the ATLAS inner tracker) and BCM' (ATLAS beam condition monitor upgrade) projects.
